Joan Dorow is a senior vice president in Callan’s Institutional Consulting Group. Joan works regularly with investment manager leadership committees and is responsible for investment manager client relationships. She provides analysis of institutional investment industry trends, asset flows, search data, and asset class trends. Joan develops in-depth educational offerings across industry topics for institutional investment managers. She is a member of the Institute Advisory Committee and is a shareholder of the firm.
Prior to joining Callan in 2018, Joan worked in capital markets and asset allocation research at Segal Marco Advisors (formerly Barra Rogers Casey) and was a member of the research white paper committee. Joan was an adjunct faculty member at the Brennan School of Business, Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois, where she taught managerial finance and statistics. She has been in the financial industry since 2001. Joan began her career at IBM as a manufacturing engineer; a large account systems engineering manager and national product marketing team manager working with Fortune 100 clients.
Joan earned her MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, with concentrations in finance, economics, and international business, and a BS in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan. She earned her NACD Directorship Certification through the National Association of Corporate Directors and is a member of the Economic Club of Miami.
