Alvaro earned a master's in finance with honors from Saint Mary’s College of California.
Alvaro Vega is a vice president in Callan’s Implementation Solutions group. His responsibilities include the intensive evaluation of global master custodians, transition managers, and digital assets service providers. Alvaro is also responsible for conducting on-site due diligence visits, developing optimal operations structures, as well as research and education of digital assets with a focus on the impact of blockchain/distributed ledger technology on the institutional investment industry. Alvaro is a member of Callan’s Diversity, Equity & Belonging Council and the Student Engagement Team. He is also a shareholder of the firm.
Prior to joining the Implementation Solutions group in 2018, Alvaro worked in the Client Report Services group, where he was responsible for performance calculations, analytics, and the production of performance measurement reports for clients ranging from large public and corporate defined benefit/defined contribution plans to nonprofits, and other large institutional pools. Prior to joining Callan in 2015, Alvaro held internships at Callan and the boutique investment bank Demeter Group in San Francisco.
Outside of Callan, Alvaro volunteers with the UC Santa Cruz Career Advice Network, providing mentorship and career advice to undergraduate and graduate students. Alvaro is also an Emerging Leader with the United Way of the Bay Area, focused on providing financial education and guidance to low-income families in the North and South Bay communities.
Alvaro earned an MS in finance with honors from Saint Mary’s College of California and a BA in business management economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
