Callan Connects

A unique approach to engaging emerging and diverse managers

Callan Connects is dedicated to empowering emerging and diverse investment managers by providing them with meaningful access to investment opportunities, while also helping them understand the needs and expectations of institutional investors. Our mission is to foster inclusion, expand the talent pool, and promote a dynamic and diverse asset management industry that drives both strong performance and positive change.

A history of engagement

In 2010, Callan Connects became the first-of-its-kind program developed by an investment consultant to engage emerging managers and diverse-, women-, and disabled-owned (DWDO) firms. It all started with our founder Ed Callan, who laid the groundwork in the early 1990s. Ever since, expanding our universe of emerging and diverse managers has been a part of our unique manager search process.

Stay tuned for our next virtual session in March

Join Callan specialists for a 30-minute, one-on-one session. Two tracks are offered:

Track 1: For emerging and diverse firms in the early stages of their organization, a Callan asset class specialist focuses on offering consultative insights and constructive feedback.

Track 2: For firms looking to expand their client base with strategies currently in demand, discussions center on team, strategy, process, and performance.

Held virtually for one week each quarter, these sessions are led by our expert teams across all asset classes.

“The importance of emerging and diverse manager engagement has increased as institutional investors look to add new talent to their rosters and managers that reflect the diversity of fund beneficiaries. Our years-long focus on building out our exposure to these firms has resulted in one of the industry’s most robust databases, and it’s integral to our unique manager search process.”
