Amit joined Callan in 1996 and is a founding member of the firm's ESG team.
Amit Bansal is a vice president in Callan’s Measurement Development group. Working at the intersection of data, technology, and investment practice, he develops analytics/solutions and associated research for institutional investors. As a founding member of Callan’s ESG team, Amit leads the development of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) analytics, cultivates strategic external partnerships, and supports Callan’s clients with research, education, and evaluation of ESG and sustainable investment issues.
Amit joined Callan in 1996 and is a shareholder of the firm. His varied experience includes creating and maintaining investment style groups, performance measurement-related quantitative/statistical analysis, and managing the U.S. equity index calculations for returns and client portfolio attribution. He was the co-developer of Callan’s Style Trend and Research (STAR) report, a business decision-making tool for investment management firms. He was also instrumental in developing, and is currently managing, Callan’s Unified Managed Account reporting platform.
He earned his MBA and MS in petroleum engineering, and completed graduate coursework in environmental engineering, all from University of Alaska Fairbanks. He graduated with a BS in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (India). He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (the honor society of AACSB-accredited business programs) and currently volunteers as the treasurer and board member of a K-12 education nonprofit.
